Game Recommendation: Pete the Cat – The Missing Cupcakes Game

July 22, 2022 By admin

Pete the Cat: The Missing Cupcakes Game

Ages: 3 years and older

Players: 2-4

Game Made By: University Games Corporation

Game Includes:

  • 14 colorful cupcakes
  • 20 birthday present cards
  • Game board
  • 4 character pawns (Gus, Squirrel, Alligator, Turtle)
  • Grumpy Toad & Cupcake Tray (game box platform)
  • Spinner

Object of the Game: Move all 14 cupcakes from Grumpy Toad’s Cupcake Tray to Pete the Cat’s Birthday Party Table!

How to Play:

  • Each player chooses a character pawn
  • Place your character pawn on one of the four corners of the game board. Two players may share a space.
  • Place all cupcakes onto the Grumpy Toad’s Cupcake Tray
  • Place the present cards on the board face down next to Pete the Cat
  • The youngest player spins the spinner first and moves clockwise around the board
  • Each player spins the spinner and performs an activity based on one of the spots landed on:
    • Present Spots: Pick up a present card and perform the activity. Act out (either like charades or using sounds) the image on the back of the present card. If a player guesses your card correctly, the player who performed the present card takes two cupcakes from Grumpy Toad’s Cupcake Tray and places them on two open spots on Pete the Cat’s Birthday Party Table
    • Activity Spots: Activity spots include food, animal, letters, and music spots (each explained below). If the player completes the activity represented by the spot, the player takes one cupcake from Grumpy Toad’s Cupcake Tray and places it on an open spot on Pete the Cat’s Birthday Party Table
      • Food: These spots show a picture of an apple. If a player lands on this spot they must name a food.
      • Animal: These spots show a picture of a dog. If a player lands on this spot they must name an animal and say its sound.
      • Letters: These spots show a picture of the letters A, B, and C. If a player lands on this spot they must name a letter and something that starts with that letter.
      • Music: These spots show a picture of a musical note. If a player lands on this spot they must sing a verse from a song or make up a new song.
    • Grumpy Toad Spots: Move a cupcake from Pete the Cat’s Birthday Party Table back to Grumpy Toad’s Cupcake Tray
    • Home Spot: No activity is performed
  • To win the game, all players must work together to move all 14 cupcakes from Grumpy Toad’s Cupcake Tray to Pete the Cat’s Birthday Party Table. All the players celebrate the victory by singing Happy Birthday to Pete the Cat.
